            Safe Search Explained

ScoutDNS allows the use of Safe Search settings to promote safer web browsing when using search engines. This can help by completely blocking certain search terms and removing inappropriate search results including those from image/video tabs.

            Bing Safe Mode

Since all search engines do not support safe search DNS based settings, ScoutDNS allows control over your Safe Search settings and behavior.

ScoutDNS support the following two Safe Search modes:

On: When selected, this will lock Google and Bing into safe search modes but will still allow other search engines such as Yahoo and more to be used by end users.

Forced: This option locks Google and Bing into safe search modes while blocking all other search engines. This is a more restrictive setting.

            Safe Search Options

*Some blocked search domains may cause issues with certain web applications. If this occurs you can white-list these domains after discovering in your log, or you can set your Safe Search mode to On. You can still allow specific search engines while using Forced mode by entering any search application into a white list.
